Well when @Davidutro asks you to do something it’s usually a good idea to investigate. FBL is a small bootstrapping team of crypto enthusiasts focused on the intersections of product <> governance <> finance. You might have seen my/FBL’s track record of voting over at MakerDAO, or product work at Rabbithole v1 or Govrn. Most recently, I’ve taken over the product and workstream lead role at Shapeshift.

Our experience building, voting, and contributing to projects honed our understanding of the critical intersections between product development, governance mechanisms, and open financial mechanism design. We bring this expertise to the table and aim to foster an environment where these core principles thrive.
It’s exciting to join a community focused on simplicity even if the protocol itself is complicated and ambitious. Frankly a focus on grants feels like a return to the roots of some work at the Maker Foundation (with familiar faces) and a refreshing break from Governance’s usual grind.

Should any conflicts arise, we will exercise due diligence and either abstain from voting or provide a clear rationale behind our decisions. Our primary goal is to seek mutually beneficial outcomes and contribute to the composability that DeFi prides itself on.
- Shapeshift might have proposals in the future or offer to integrate Ajna’s protocol, if so FBL will step out of those conversations to let a different workstream lead the integration and plans.
- We will likely retain more talent for the Governance arm over the coming months, they will come back to this thread to introduce themselves and share any updated conflicts.
