Project Information

  1. What is it? The proposed micro-grants program aims to provide funding opportunities for smaller projects that have the potential to contribute significantly to the growth of the Ajna ecosystem.

  2. What problem is being solved, and how? The micro-grants program addresses the need for funding and support for projects that may not have made it into Ajna’s regular grant cycle but still have the potential to drive ecosystem growth and adoption. The program will help bring innovative ideas and talented teams into the Ajna ecosystem by providing targeted funding and support.

  3. How will this project be a source of growth or success for Ajna? Please include a step-by-step summary of how you imagine the completed project will affect Ajna. The micro-grants program will contribute to Ajna’s growth and success by lowering barriers to entry for projects to apply and see a quick turnaround. This will attract a wider range of innovative projects and talented teams to the Ajna ecosystem, driving the adoption and integration of the Ajna protocol. The program will also foster a vibrant and engaged community of developers, researchers, and entrepreneurs around Ajna.

  4. What is/are the objective(s)?

  • Lower barriers to entry for projects to apply for and receive funding
  • Attract diverse talent and innovative ideas to the Ajna ecosystem
  • Drive adoption and integration of the Ajna protocol
  • Foster a vibrant and engaged community around Ajna
  1. What is/are the deliverable(s)?
  • A customized micro-grants program tailored to Ajna’s goals and values
  • A user-friendly application and evaluation process through Gitcoin’s Grant Stack
  • Regular progress reports and updates from funded projects
  • Final reports outlining the outcomes, impact, and lessons learned from each funded project
  1. What is the timeline for completing the deliverables? The micro-grants program will feature rolling applications, and Gitcoin can complete the setup within 1-2 weeks of receipt of funds.

  2. What level of support do you anticipate needing throughout the project? Gitcoin will work closely with the Ajna team throughout the project, providing guidance, tools, and support for program design, application management, evaluation, and reporting. We anticipate needing input and feedback from the Ajna team at key milestones and ongoing communication to ensure alignment with Ajna’s goals and values.

  3. How often will progress reports be published to the forum? The funded grantees will provide progress reports, which will be published to the Ajna forum as needed.

  4. What are the estimated costs associated with the full completion of this project? The total estimated cost for the micro-grants program is 3,000,000 AJNA, allocated as follows:

  • 2,500,000 AJNA for direct micro-grants. Note: Grants of more than $15,000 will be required to KYC via Gitcoin’s procedures.

  • 500,000 AJNA donation for program design, implementation, and ongoing management

  1. If applicable, how will the project be maintained after completion of the grant? Gitcoin will work with the Ajna team to evaluate the success of the micro-grants program and identify opportunities for future iterations or ongoing support for funded projects. The insights and learnings from the program will be shared with the Ajna community to inform future ecosystem growth initiatives.

Additional Information

  1. How will you handle a delay in your project timeline? In the event of a delay, Gitcoin will communicate transparently with the Ajna team and community, providing an updated timeline and any necessary adjustments to the program. We will work closely with funded projects to address any challenges and ensure they remain on track to deliver their expected outcomes.

  2. How will you handle a scenario where the project can’t be completed due to insufficient funding or other factors? Suppose the micro-grants program cannot be completed due to insufficient funding or other factors. In that case, Gitcoin will work with the Ajna team to explore alternative funding sources or adjust the program scope as necessary.

  3. How will you handle a scenario where the project is completed but significantly under budget? In the event that the micro-grants program is completed under budget, Gitcoin will work with the Ajna team to determine the best use of the remaining funds. Options may include extending the program to fund additional projects or allocating the funds to other Ajna ecosystem growth initiatives.
